PROJECT ACTIVE

Several students from our school will be taking part in Project Active – Ninja Warrior Challenge at Philemon Wright High School on October 4th. This event is an exciting opportunity to promote an active lifestyle, celebrate inclusion for students from across the board with special needs, and most importantly, to have fun!

GRADE SIX CAMPING TRIP

Grade 6’s will be going on an overnight outdoor education field trip to the WQSB outdoor education center.

The dates will be as follows:
Monday, October 22nd & Tuesday, October 23rd will be Ms. Fama’s class.

Thursday, October 25th and Friday, October 26th, will be Mr. Birch’s class.

Monday, October 29th and Tuesday, October 30th will be Mrs. Paré’s class.

The planned activities that students may participate in revolve around team-building and outdoor life skills including: hiking, teamwork challenges, Inuit games, building survival shelters, stream study, playing ecology games, campfire and a night walk, singing songs, cooking and preparing food. Weather conditions will determine the final outcome of activity choices.

Most of all, it is an experience the children will never forget.

LISTENING EAR

Starting this month, we will have a “Listening Ear” room for students to visit during the lunch hour from 11:50 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.   If students have a problem, they can talk to one of the following Listening Ear Teachers:

Monday – Mrs. Geiger

Wednesday – Mme. Alana

Thursday – Mrs. Baruffa

BREAKFAST PROGRAM

Our breakfast program is running well, thanks to our grant from the Breakfast Club of Canada.  We are accepting cash donations to go towards the program if you are interested.

Our milk program from the School Board will be starting this month.

VACCINATIONS

October 30th for grade 4.

HALLOWEEN DAY

Students are invited to wear their costume to school on Wednesday, October 31st.  For safety reasons, students are asked to leave props or weapons at home.  If your child has a costume with a mask, they can wear it during the parade, but must leave it in the class during outdoor play.

The Halloween parade in the school will start at 9:00.
