MARCH BREAK

This year our March break will commence on Monday, March 5th and will end on Friday, March 9th.  We hope everyone has a safe week.

CONCOURS D’ART ORATOIRE

On Wednesday, March 15th at 9:00 a.m. the students who have been chosen from grade 4, 5 and 6 will present their speeches in front of students, staff and parents.  Our first place winner will then go on to represent our school at a board-wide competition at South Hull School on Wednesday, March 21st.

MRS. PAYNE VISITS THE GRADE 6 STUDENTS

On Thursday, March 15th, Mrs. Payne, the principal of Hadley Junior High, will be coming to speak to our grade 6 students about life in Junior High.

She will be able to answer student’s questions about the school.

ENCHANTED GARDEN FUNDRAISER

On March 15th, the students will be bringing home a product brochure for Enchanted Garden. You and your family and friends will have the opportunity to order flower seeds and bulbs for your inside and or soon to be outside gardens. The funds raised from the campaign will go towards the entrance fees for upcoming field trips. All orders are due April 3rd, the products will arrive in May. Please help us make this a successful fundraiser.

NCC WOLF PRESENTATION

Grade 5 classes will be visited by NCC – Gatineau Park biologists on March 22nd. They will be presenting a workshop called “A case of mistaken identity?”

Witnesses claim to have seen and heard wolves in the Park. Were they wolves or coyotes? Or hybrids? Do these animals make the Park their home?

Join our team of detectives, and follow the clues to find out the truth. This interactive presentation will explore the differences between wolves and coyotes, and discuss recent research.

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

Once again we will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart. Our kick-off assembly will be on Tuesday, March 27th. The fundraising envelopes will be sent home that day.

NATIONAL ART GALLERY

On Thursday, March 1st, Wednesday, March 28th, and Wednesday, April 4th volunteers from the National Art Gallery will be visiting all classrooms to talk about various artists, artwork, and exhibits that can be found at the gallery.
