February Parents Please Note

Date: January 30, 2018 Author: Jennifer Plaxton Categories: News Bits

Your child will be bringing home their second term report card on Tuesday, February 27th.

Parent/Teacher interviews will be held on Wednesday, February 28th from 2:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Please note that teachers will be sending out an interview form only to parents they would like to meet.

If you receive one of these request forms, please return it back to school by Wednesday, February 14th so that scheduling can begin.

If you do not receive a form but would like to meet with the teacher, please contact the teacher to book an appointment.

We ask that parents/ Guardians please take a minute to call the school and advise us if your child is going to be late or absent.

We have over 470 students in the school and it would be very helpful if parents could call into the school.

You can reach Melissa Brownlee (replacing Margaret Burns) at (819) 663-4842 ext. 0 no later than 8:30 a.m. or email; mburns@wqsb.qc.ca Melissa will be monitoring this email account.

If you are sending a note or an e-mail to your child’s teacher about an absence or picking them up early, please ensure that Melissa Brownlee/Margaret Burns also receives a copy so she can remind the teacher and have your child waiting at the office upon your arrival.

To help us out, please make sure that we always receive a note or a phone call before picking up your child.

If you are dropping your child off for school in the morning please park on rue Alice or in the parking lot and use the front entrance.

Napoleon Groulx is a bus lane after 7:30 so needs to remain clear for the buses to unload. Also crossing the street and walking between the buses is dangerous as well. We ask for your co-operation in this matter.

The Western Quebec School Board will no longer be paying the fee for criminal checks for volunteers.  The cost associated with obtaining the criminal check must be covered by the individual. You can request a form from the school, provide 46$ cash, and we will send the form to the school Board to be sent to the proper agency. Criminal Background Checks are valid for 2 years. Under no circumstances can an individual work or volunteer within any of our schools or centres until it has been confirmed that their criminal record is approved by the Board Office.

If you would like to volunteer in the classroom or on any trips please ensure that you have a valid background check.
