On Friday, January 26th,  2018, we are going to have a Winter Activity Day at Lac Beauchamp, from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Activities including tubing, skating, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing will be available for all students.

The kindergarten, grade 1 and 2’s will be returning to school at 11:30 a.m. and will continue their activities at school in the afternoon.  Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will return at 2:00 p.m.

Please don’t forget that if you are volunteering you must be on our approved security list.

Students must wear a helmet for skating (bicycle helmets are satisfactory).  Skates must be brought on the bus in a zippered bag.

We will be cancelling our Hot Meal Program on that day.  More details will follow in January.

On January 29th, 31st and February 1st, 2018 the Grade 5 classes will be snowshoeing and building snow shelters in a nearby reserve. Students will take a short hike from the school to the reserve.

This is a hands-on study where the students will learn how to build a Quinzee (snow shelter) and other winter skills to use in the outdoors.

The outdoor education specialist, Alan Earwaker, will be joining us for these activities.

We are very lucky to have Mr. Alan Earwaker (Outdoor Education Consultant) joining our Grade 3 students this year.  He will be doing ecology food web games and activities on January 22nd  Mrs Schindel, 23rd  Mrs D-V and January 24th with Mrs Baruffa.
