October 2019 Parents Please Note

Date: October 1, 2019 Author: Jennifer Plaxton Categories: News Bits

We have a few different types of allergies in our school. Specific letters were sent home to those affected classes recently.

However, our school still remains a peanut/nut free school.

If you have not been in to pay the 2019-20 school fees, please do so as soon as possible. First reminder notices will be going out later in October, so please make sure you visit us before then.

All parent volunteers that plan to help out in our school or on field trips require a security background check.

You can come into the office to see Katharine Andriano and fill in the security check form and provide us with your driver’s license and health card.

If you do not have one of these pieces of ID the website has a list of alternative ID that can be used.  There is no cost to the parent volunteer, it is paid by the WQSB.

Progress reports go home on October 15. You will see how your child has been doing in the first part of the year.

We ask that parents/ guardians please take a minute to call the school and advise us if your child is going to be late or absent. You only need to call the school. Daycare is advised of the absences each day.

We have close to 500 students in the school and it is very helpful when parents call the school.

You can reach Katharine Andriano at (819) 663-4842

ext. 0 or email; kandriano@wqsb.qc.ca Please try to make your call before 8:30 a.m.

If you are sending a note or an e-mail to your child’s teacher about an absence or picking them up early, please ensure that Katharine receives a copy so she can remind the teacher and have your child waiting at the office upon your arrival.

Parents of all students are reminded that calls regarding attendance at school or an early pick up at or before 2:30 should be directed to Katharine Andriano at the office (819) 663-4842 Ext. 0

Calls regarding a change in who will pick up your child at daycare (between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.) should be directed to Jennifer Plaxton at the daycare (819) 643-6365.

To help us out, please make sure that we always receive a note or a phone call before picking up your child. It is very important that we receive the calls before 1:30 p.m.

Our list for the day’s changes has to be compiled and sent out to the teachers and daycare before 2:00 p.m., so please respect our cut-off time.
