Arrivals & Departures

Regular attendance and punctuality is important for a student’s success. Please help us by getting your child to school every day and on time. Remember children who arrive late often miss the instructional portion of the lesson making it difficult to catch up.

Parents are asked to come right to the office in the morning with their child to ensure their safe entrance into the school.

Supervision officially starts at 7:45 a.m., no child should be on school property before this time. If a child arrives at school before staff supervision begins, they will be sent to daycare and the parents will be charged the morning daycare rate. At the end of the day, children waiting at the office for parents past 2:45 p.m. will be placed in daycare and the parents will be charged the afternoon rate.

Parents are expected to telephone the school as early as possible and to leave a message if their child(ren) will be late or not attending school. The school will attempt to contact parents to verify absences. If a child is being picked-up early or after school, or not following their regular routine (i.e.: daycare instead of taking the bus), you are required to send a NOTE with your child that day and report to the office to sign them out. Do not leave a message on the answering machine after 1:30 pm; messages are often not picked up until after students leave.

No child is permitted to leave the school property alone unless the child walks home at lunch or after school. Arrangements must be made with the office staff to allow a child to leave on their own.
